When it comes to being a notary, having all of your supplies together is crucial, because you never know when someone will need your signature, and you always want to be prepared. Remember “If you stay ready, you never have to get ready” ~

Here is a list of the 5 Essential Notary Supplies every notary should have:

1. Official Notary Seal:
A notary seal is a non-negotiable tool for notaries. It typically includes the notary’s name, commission number, and the state where you are commissioned. This seal is used to authenticate documents and acts as a symbol of the notary’s authority.

2. Notary Journal:
Keeping a good notary journal is both a best practice and a legal requirement in many jurisdictions. It serves as a record of all notarized transactions, capturing essential details such as the date, time, type of document, and the parties involved. A notary journal promotes transparency and protects you in case of legal disputes.

3. Stamps and Ink Pads:
Having a reliable set of stamps and ink pads is essential for attaching the notary seal to documents. Opt for high-quality, durable stamps to ensure clear and legible impressions on various types of paper. It is recommended to always have at least (2) stamps available.

4. Identification Materials:
Verify the identity of individuals seeking notarization by requesting proper identification. Keep a checklist of acceptable identification documents to streamline this crucial step in the notarization process.

5. Document Storage:
Maintain organization and security by investing in document storage solutions. This can include folders, envelopes, or digital storage methods to keep all documents safe and client information confidential.

Conclusion:
Building a well-equipped notary toolkit is a strategic investment in the accuracy and professionalism of your services. Also, I know I did not include pens on the list, but we all know that BLACK or BLUE pens are a MUST HAVE.
